When I was young my mum would cook bacon sandwiches for my brother and his friends at the weekend. Instead of feeling like I was missing out I discovered this recipe which I have been using ever since!
Not only is this recipe delicious but is it packed full of vitamin E, anti-oxidants, magnesium, protein, zinc and omega 3 fats.
Ingredients: (Makes enough seeds for a few sandwiches and also to sprinkle over your food for a few days!)
Your favourite bread
Your favourite sauce (ketchup/ brown)
For the seed mix
1 x cup seeds (I use sunflower and pumpkin)
1 tbs soy sauce
3 x tsps your favourite seasoning (I use mixed herbs, paprika and chilli powder)
- Mix all the seed ingredients together
- Spread on a baking tray and bake at 150C for about 10 mins or until crispy (keep an eye on them as they burn quickly!)
- Pack your favourite bread of choice with the seeds and add your favourite sauce
The remaining seeds can also be used to sprinkle on top of salads, soups etc.
